I applied to Swarthmore RD and was just sent a letter of early notification of my acceptance to the Swartmore Class of 2016. Does this mean anything about my strength as a candidate? I've been extremely nervous about admissions because I accidentally put my GPA on an incorrect scale, which makes it seem less than it actually is.

With this in mind, how does CC think that my chances elsewhere would fare elsewhere? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to be a member of the class of 2016 at Swarthmore. I'm just curious and frankly very nervous about the others. I also applied to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and Rice. Thanks.

They will know your GPA based on what your counselor tells them about your school. That mistake you made is negligible, so they know what your true GPA is. Anyways, if you got in early, that means you are undoubtedly a very strong applicant. Hopefully you get into your top choice. Good luck and congrats.

Yes, do not stress, the College would not rely on your submission of a GPA. That would come from the high school itself, with an explanation of grading policies. Good luck on the rest of your schools, but you’ve already “won,” so enjoy the thrill of victory. The agonies of defeat will arrive soon enough (potentially, that is).

But as far as the other schools go, would Swarthmore be a good enough indicator for potential chances there?
