Chance for ED2

I applied ED2 to Emory today. I want to see some opinions on my chances of getting in.

SAT: 2000 (710M, 630CR, 660W)
SAT II: 690 Math II, 640 Spanish
6 AP's by time I graduate
93.92/100 Weighted GPA

African American
National Achievement Commended Scholar
National Honor Society
Spanish National Honor Society

Male from Texas
Small Private School

Recruited for Track at Emory, so hopefully some pull from coach

What do you guys think?

If you were recruited for track, why did you apply ED2?

ED1 is where most athletes apply.

They may have been recruited elsewhere and applied elsewhere, and maybe wasn’t successful OR maybe they just vibed better with the ED2 deadline. Although I think this person will probably get in, it does generally get trickier with ED2 (seems similar to RD rate and perhaps also gets students who assume they’ll get into Emory when they didn’t get into a more selective school they applied to for ED1. Basically, some of these may be overconfident).

yeah, ed2 acceptance rate is like 25%, same with rd.

yeah, ed2 deadline fit better due to applying REA to another school

Think I’ll get in?

I think you’ll get in because your test scores are not too bad and your getting recruited for track. However, it also depends on how good your track stats are. You need to know that there were track recruits who applied ED 1, and received an acceptance so it might be a bit harder because the coach can only give support to so many recruits. However, if your track stats blow others out the waer, then I think you’ll be fine, and even without track, I still think that you’ll get in.
