No sports? Otherwise, pretty good

Nothing leaps out and says either you’re a lock for any of these schools, or that they’re all silly dreams. Your application is credible. Decent test scores, good GPA. I’m assuming the rigor of your curriculum is at the far end of what’s possible at your school. Extracurriculars are credible, though run of the mill. You have a chance to distinguish yourself with your essays, and hopefully, those who write letters of recommendation for you will write exemplary things about you. Obviously, schools like UVa and Hopkins are more obtainable than Harvard, Duke, or Stanford. But none of these schools are a “safety” for you. You’re aiming at the right set of schools, but you might want to add a couple of safe schools. Do you have a good state flagship university?

I would narrow your focus a bit more. For instance, I can’t imagine that someone who would apply to Brown would also be happy at Columbia, or vice versa. With applicants, quality usually matters a lot more than quantity. Apply to schools that you would really like to attend, not just any school ranked in the top 20.

Otherwise, you have strong credentials, and I expect you’ll be able to get into one of your top choices.

@0br0123 thanks!
@notjoe Thanks for the chance. I’ll also apply to UF and maybe FSU (state schools)
@Tman1005 thanks, I appreciate it. And I’ll definitely narrow the list.
