Not many people in New Jersey apply to UT Austin so I thought that it might make it a little easier for me because they want students from all states.

I am a male, Indian NJ resident applying for freshman admission.

GPA: 3.08
SAT: 1670 (Math- 610, Critical Reading- 470, Writing- 590)
Decent Essay.
A few extra curriculars.
About 300 volunteer hours.
Applied for NO financial aid.

I know it is a stretch for UT Austin. But I love it.

Yeah, I'm sorry. Very slim chance. I don't blame you for loving UT-Austin. But hey, you can always transfer with a high GPA. Best of luck to you.

Yeah stevo is definitely right. It's not like him having a 1080 SAT score(~1300 is average for OOS not even taking into account that engineering is the third hardest schools to get into after architecture and business), being one of the over-represented ethnicities, not having even a 3.5 GPA, a 610 on math despite applying to an engineering major, or being out of state have anything to with it.

thats a great inspiration from steve. but the reality is that your chances of getting into UT looks grim. But the doors of opportunity is still open for you to get into UT. If you don't get into UT this year then just make sure you go to a c.c. next year and get a 4.0 GPA. Best of luck.
