Hi, I am an international student from China, and I am currently studying in a private high school in Oregon.
My SAT: 490 CR (well, I already tried my best), 670 Writing (essay score 10), 790 Math (made that twice)
My SAT II: 790 Math Level II, 750 Chemistry
My ibt TOEFL (If you know about it ): 25 Reading, 23 speaking, 28 listening, 27 writing
My Gpa: 3.95 (unweighed)
My class rank: 13/65 (kind of sad)
I am currently studying AP Calculus & AP Government.
Significant activities:
drama (cast member, did that twice), cross country (most improved athlete), track, robotics (major engineer), fundraising for Japanese earthquake, teaching at local elementry school in China, volunteering in a local pharmacy for 3 weeks......
I am applying for chemistry major for the class of 2016 (RD), and I wonder if I will be accepted by Lehigh.
PS: I want to change my RD into ED II, is that possible? What should I do about that?

Hey wildrosey,

Across the board, your application looks good. Your SAT I and IIs are both about right for a Lehigh student, and your GPA is excellent. I don’t know enough about the TOEFL to make a judgement on it. Your rank is about average, too - top third.

I’d say you’ve got a great change of getting in assuming you demonstrated enough interest and enthusiam about going to Lehigh in your essays and application. I hope you were able to visit campus.

I’m not sure if there is a way to switch from RD to ED2. I’d call Lehigh admissions and ask. Keep in mind that ED2 means that if Lehigh accepts you - regardless of aid and other college decisions - you agree to go to Lehigh. Your chances of getting in increase if you apply ED2.

I hope I addressed your concerns. Best,

Thanks, I just always feel bad about my reading part (and I can’t do anything for help).
by the way, the TOEFL is just a language test for non English student, the Lehigh requirement is 90 (and I got 103).
I have to say I did best in my essays, (don’t know how others evaluate it, but it’s my best work)
I asked the Lehigh admission counsilor, and they said it’s OK to change to ED2, just mail the ED agreement. Since international student don’t get any financial aid, I am OK with that. (I just hate to wait !!)

I hear you, it’s definitely exciting to wait. Like I said, the SATs won’t make or break your application. If you’re essays are as great as you say, you’ll be fine.

And thanks for telling me about the TOEFL, I had no idea what it was.

Good luck!
