any chance of me getting into there engineering school?

i figure my chances of admission are pretty low because Lehigh has become highly competitive but it is worth a try.

What I think will probably keep me from getting in is my sat score which was an 1190. I plan on taking the acts once i plan on getting a 30 from all the practice tests i have taken. is that a good score? what is the avg. act score lehigh accepts?

Otherwise, i think i am in decent shape:
GPA: 3.76
Rank: somewhere around 25/250
all accelerated classes with 7 ap classes (ap us history, ap chemistry, ap biology, ap physics, ap english, ap stats, ap calculus bc) i'm also taking psychology but it isn't an ap class because it is a half year class.

in school clubs + extra curricular:
national honors society for 1 year
key club 2 years
amnesty international 2 years
mock trials 1 year
tennis 2 years

out of school + community:
help out in religious events
started a rec sports club for my community
played for rec soccer league
over 200 hours of volunteer service for local hospitals (one of which offered a job in their tech department at the end of the summer because i was a was able to do a lot of field work for them)

my recommendation will be coming from my chemistry teacher (also head of national honors society) my physics teacher and calc teacher. my counselor for 3 yrs retired but he says he will fill out a recommendation because the new guy doesn't know me at all (retired counselor was also the head of the department and point lehigh out for me)

more importantly i want to know what i can do do help my chances of getting in, i plan on early decision because it is my top school. i have also visited twice now which i hear slightly boosts your chances, but i'm doubtful of this is true, can anyone confirm?

Go ED. Visit again and request (demand) an interview and make sure your parents are interviewed also. Keep in contact with the admissions person assigned to your geographic area. If no financial aid is requested let them know that also…money matters.

Spend time researching Lehigh’s ethos; it’s traditions, philosophy, vision for itself as an institution. Then reflect on what you would offer to complement these areas and take full advantage of the [Supplement Short Answer Section](http://www4.lehigh.edu/Media/Website%20Resources/pdf/admissions/LU_admissions_class2014_supplement8.pdf):

Even for top academic candidates, this section is looked at carefully.

Yes, those scores are on the low side. The average SAT score for the class admitted in 2006 was 1300 and this number has risen. Have you considered taking them again?

Ya i would definitely do a retake- I had and average SAT score for lehigh but I had some good extracurriculars + i went to boarding school. I would say , retake SATs for sure and maybe some SAT IIs if your better at those (even though lehigh says they don’t require it it still looks good on your resume esp if your SAT I are sub par). Visits are definitely a boost even though i never bothered. I applied ED II for lehigh cause i didn’t feel like waiting for columbia and CMU. But in perspective your into ok shape for getting into lehigh chance with ED I: 65-75% Good Luck!
