I'm applying to MSEAS (Computer Engineering) within the next couple of weeks. I haven't visited Northwestern yet, but I will probably do it on a dual trip to Northwestern and UIUC in April if I get into one (or better yet, both) of them.

Here are my basic stats:

GPA - 3.41 UW (No weighted, only rank is weighted and this DOESN'T include Sr year [see below])
Rank - 22/207 (Top 11%) - (Basically, my school is pretty hard considering I'm top 11% with that GPA)
SAT Score (Took once) - Total: 2160/1400. 800 M, 760 W, 600 CR
ACT Score (Took once) - 32 Composite, 34 M, 32 S, 31 R, 30 E/W.
SATII Score - Math 2: 790, Chem: 610 (lol)
Course Load: All Honors, AP Chem (Other APs available through Jr year were WH, USH, and English). I calculated that my Math/Science GPA was a
Senior Load: AP Calc AB, AP Physics B, AP Bio+Lab (2 grades), Honors English, Required Religion. I earned a 3.83 first quarter (I believe? Might have been a 3.89 but I think it was a 3.83 - A in Calc, A+ in Physics, A in Bio, A in Bio Lab)
School Type + Location - Parochial Private in New England

Obviously there's more that goes into a decision but I'm hoping this gives you a good idea of my overall profile. For the essay for common app, I may go with my own topic and use my Georgia Institute of Technology essay that gives an 800 word overview of incredible experience and skills gained from an extracurricular last year.

ALSO: If anybody has anything to pitch in about positives that NU has over GT or UIUC, I'd much appreciate it. Obviously one big attraction to me for NU is that it is very well-roundedly awesome in every academic area, in case I don't like CpE. I would major in Math if that is the case. Hurting NU's case is that they don't have the reputation or job recruiters of GT/UIUC for CpE, albeit still is an awesome program.

Thanks for all your input everyone!
