A Few Questions too...
- Do they look at Senior Courses taken for Early Decision applicants?
-Is "Moving High Schools" a possible HOOK?

No, moving high schools is not a hook. It sounds like you are making excuses for your freshman year. They don’t like that.

Yes, they look at your course load, but not your grades unless you apply EDII (then they see 2nd semester).

You are an average applicant, with an average chance.

No one on here has any inisight into exactly how the adcoms are going to view your application. “Chance me” threads are subjective and arbitrary. Rather than asking people to “chance you”, just look at the statistics for the school, the applicant graph, and the freshman profile. All anyone can ever be sure of is if you fit into their academic ranges.

Alright thank you. And the reason I moved was due to a very bad family problem, and my freshman year of HS was just a mess, I don’t really like to talk about it or bring it up.

And I have looked at the freshman profile, I thought it would be good to ask other possible/present/past NYUers what they think. Anywhoo, thanks for your help :)

Hello there! I’m a junior who lists Stern as one of my Post-secondary options! I’m Canadian, so I’m not very sure with this GPA issue :S Is your GPA cumulative for just your junior/senior year?

Nonetheless, I’ve came cross several forums for Stern and I think you have a shot. (When is ED1 deadline, by the way?)

I have a friend who got accepted to Stern recently (saw his facebook status), he will be studying Finance at Stern, his SAT score wasn’t extremely outstanding, but he has tons of extraordinary ECs and awards (nationally/internationally), as well as amazing internships. But most importantly, he is so dedicated and passionate towards his major.

I may not be the best person to answer your question, but just trying to give some info and hope this helps!

Best of luck :D
