I am bad at chancing people but I can give some suggestions and ask you some questions you need to consider…
GPA - what’s the unweighted gpa?
SAT I - too low, unless you have good ECs to make up for it
SAT II - please give specific score, above national average is not at all impressive. A score above UPENN average is what you are striving for
Clubs - do you hold leadership position or are you only a member?
ECs - overall well-rounded, pretty good
Do Mongolians count as URM? I know Asians don’t but I’m not sure about Mongolians…If yes then you would probably benefit from it, possibly making up for some low test scores

GPA unweighted: I do believe it’s around a 3.8 or 3.9.
SAT II: 590 history, 580 math II. not that great.
Clubs: Only member, but been on Spanish Club all 4 years. Ecology for 2.

I understand that my scores are not “decent or high” compared to everyone else’s on here.
I was hoping maybe that with a really good essay + ec’s + good gpa would maybe let me get in through e.d. (which i already applied)

I’m asking if I honestly have a chance, I know anything is impossible, but I am realistic. :)

Are you applying to CAS or Wharton or dual degree programs?
GPA unweighted is good…
SAT IIs - too low… especially if you are applying to Wharton, in which case a math II under 750 would be considered low
Clubs - I guess consistency helps? Usually they are looking at leadership positions when considering clubs.

I’d say your scores are what’s gonna hurt you the most…your ECs are good, but maybe not good enough to make up for your grades.
Are you an immigrant or were you born here?

I applied E.D. to CAS.
I was born here, my mother is an immigrant.

I was hoping that an immigrant status would save your scores… nvm
If you are applying for CAS ED then you’d have a bit more chance and leeway with the scores.
Maybe your busy ECs would save the day? Which major are you applying to?

:) I appreciate your help a lot!!! I had some rude replies on a thread and your kindness is appreciated.

I would like to major in family law. My essays were pretty good, so hopefully… maybe. -crosses fingers-

good luck to you:D
Since I have no previous experience in admission and I’m applying this year as well… take my advice with a pinch of salt :]
Hopefully someone after me will give you a more accurate chancing opinion

Thank you & best of luck to you!!!
It would be nice if we both got in, ah I’m so nervous…

im sorry those scores are not going to cut it whether it be Wharton or CAS. your ec’s are great but they do not exactly make up for the scores

yeah I have to agree, your scores are significantly lower than the average applicant. If you were actively being recruited by Penn, then those scores would be fine, but as it stands, I don’t see it happening. Honestly, I think the best you can hope for is a deferral, and then you retake those tests and resubmit. I mean I think it will be pretty easy for you to bump up the SAT I at least with a little studying. The SAT IIs might be harder to increase.

If I take the sats this saturday (next two days) and feel that I’ve done well (at least 2000), would it be to late to send in scores for e.d.?

Nope, as long as you rush score, those scores should be perfectly fine to send :)

Thank you so much! I feel a little bit better now… ugh I feel so stupid compared to everyone else applying

I think I can get a 2000 at least, hopefully.
If not, oh well.

Does anyone know exactly how to rush scores?

wait till the scores are released, then order a score report and at check out change the shipping method to rush. The key is that you wait till scores are released. The weird thing though is that if you use the free score reports when you register, scores are sent automatically when released, so I don’t get the point.
