My daughter is applying to UF this fall after falling in love with the campus during a tour last year. I believe her stats will get her in but curious about merit aid from any that have gone through the process. Here are her stats:
UF Calculated GPA: 4.56 - (I am pretty sure I did this correctly)
GPA (UW): 3.8
GPA (W): 4.6
Will have 7 AP classes by end of senior year. To date all 4s for biology, physics 1, english comp, and US history.
SAT: 1520 (R/W – 740, Math – 780)
Didn’t take ACT
Athletics: Softball – (4 year starting catcher, captain junior and senior year); Volleyball - (2 year varsity, captain senior year)
Clubs: Unified Basketball, Key Club (local volunteer projects)
Honors: National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Foreign Language Honor Society
Volunteer: Homeward Bound CT
I think your daughter is a match for UF. Excellent grades and test scores along with a 4-year commitment to sports are very impressive. I can’t comment on merit aid, so I won’t. Best of luck to her.
Not sure, with Banacquisto Scholarship in the mix Florida now best option for Country. Going to get a lot of pressure from outside Florida…D super excited about Florida …ACT35 NMF UW gpa 4.0 …16 APS all 5s so far. Ind. State champ swim and speech plus pub research… We"ll see.
My daughter is a freshman at UF right now, and we are OOS. She had a 4.0UW, over 4.5W GPA, 1560 SAT. Lots of ECs. She was auto admitted into the honors program and received a $2000 scholarship. She qualifies for instate tuition thanks to the post 9/11 GI Bill, otherwise we would not be able to afford it. We met another girl from our state who received in state tuition because she was a NMF. That makes all the difference.
