Chance for UMich, UIUC, Purdue?

I have just completed my sophomore year in high school, and I am looking at University of Michigan, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and Purdue as possible college choices. I had a horrible freshman year, but rebounded very well in my sophomore year:

Freshman Year: Sem 1 Sem 2
Biology B B+
French III C- B+
Advanced Geom. B+ B+
U.S. History B+ A
Health/Phys. Ed. A A
English I A A-

Sophomore Year: Sem 1 Sem 2
Chemistry A A
French IV A A
Algebra II Adv. A A-
Earth Science A A
World History A A
English II A A

My current UW GPA is 3.70. I took the ACT in April and scored a 31. I will take it again in September to see if I can score higher. Next year, I am scheduled to take three AP's: AP Calc AB, AP Stats, and AP European History. I reside in Michigan. My question is that if I receive all A's, with one or two A-'s next year, would my chances at these schools be good? Thanks!

it’s still very early, but colleges look for an overall upward trend through out high school, so you are heading in the right direction. If you keep your GPA where it is, and get some good ECs on your resume, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting into Purdue or Illinois. You have a good shot at Michigan too, although Michigan is so exclusive it’s difficult to say for sure.

Michigan’s switch to the common app makes chances fairly unreliable for the next 3-5 years. Since they received 39000+ apps this year, one can only expect 45000+ for next year and ~50000 for Fall 2013 entry.

Thanks for the input! What do you reckon my chances would be at UVA?
