I think that's it . Please chance me for these colleges and I´ll chance you back. Your honest opinion please.

P.s- I´m the only applicant to Upenn for undergraduate studies in my country. That helps?

P.s- i´m white and non of my parents have been in universities at u.s.

I think that you have good EC’s but in the end I think that your SAT score will hurt you. Try taking the ACT, it was easier than the SAT for me.

If you can get your scores up, then you have a shot.

Thanks man. Even being the only applicant I don´t have a chance with these stats?

You have a chance, you just have a good chance if you improve your scores.

Your SATs are way below average for UPenn… That’s just a fact. Your fabulous EC’s may make up for that, and they may not. If you can retake your tests, do it. If not, I think you still have a fair shot.

bump bump…

Tiago, how any posts do you need for people to tell you you don’t have the stats for ivies?

And what on earth makes you think you are the only applicant from Portugal? I know for a fact that you are not. Further, all any school needs is a single student every four years to include a country on their list.

Waverly, I know my Sat score is crap. What about all the things I´ve done for the past years, you don´t see kids from portugal with my age with half of these things. Im active in my community, I aim to improve my country, I´ve shown that in my application, in my essays, in my teachers amazing recs and counselor rec, all the awards (Do Something!! , I know it is not Intel isef but if you see in America the awards just go to famous people and I was a semi finalist here. And you say I don´t have the stats??? You should say I don´t have the Sat but I´ll do more for the university than many 2400 sat scores. And how do you know if there more applicants?? if you anymore I would like to meet them actually, I love to meet interesting, proactive people who put the same amount of effort that I put in all I do.

bump bump…

Penn likes leadership, so that might save you  . I agree though, try the ACT if possible. Getting your scores up even a little might really help.

Do you need financial aid?

Unfortunately, yes.

If you need FA and you are an international, your chances are already slim. Penn is need-aware, so they take your needing FA into account. There are a ton of extremely qualified FA needing international students, and they only take a few. I hate to say it, but your SAT scores take you out of the running. Your SAT scores make your school look really easy. At my school, everyone with around a 4.15 is getting scores from 2050-2250 on their SATs. You do have good grades, but scores like that discredit them. You do have a slight chance, however, because of your amazing ECs. Regardless, Penn gets to pick and choose from their FA needy international applicant pool, and there are kids with your ECs, great test scores, and great grades ready to take up those spots.

How exactly do you have a GPA? Portuguese grades shouldn’t be converted to GPA.

Because you need financial aid, it is going to be VERY hard for you to enter Penn. Penn isn’t very generous with FA for international students. Other schools, though need-aware, can be more generous.

No chance, sorry.

Have you taken the TOEFL exam?

Oh, and tiago, you can’t assume you’re the only one from Portugal applying to UPenn. I actually know for a fact that you aren’t :P
