Recommendations: Great from two teachers, decent from third; getting two extra from Lab PI's, which should be great as well

N.B only kid from school to take classes at local LAC for junior year, and upcoming year through a high school gifted program. Taking Multivariable Calc and linear algebra through CTY</p>

<p>Alright here’s the thing, Vandy is really competitive your GPA is lowish SAT is good, merit is also good. EC’s are good. </p>

<p>Problem: ED II at Vanderbilt is the hard pool to get accepted from. I spoke with the rep last week and she told me that it is the hardest to select from because most of the pool comes from EDI or regular admission. I would choose EDI or Regular. </p>

<p>Everything looks pretty good for you. You are a competitive applicant, hopes this helps.</p>

<p>I agree, competitive applicant but you NEED awesome essays. </p>

<p>If you can rock the essays, you will have a shot. GPA and SAT are good enough to get you past “the cut”</p>

<p>Honestly, you are a great applicant. I don’t know if your GPA is trended or is just a plateau. If it is a trending GPA upwards through the years, I would say you have a very very good chance but it is vandy so Low reach. If it is a plateau, I think it’ll be a reach.</p>
