-My passions in life are running, music, and school in that order. For my essays, I focused on overcoming injury problems as a runner and my "love" of science fair. I wrote that I want to attend ____ university so that I can gain a solid base in biology and later enter med school with a goal of becoming in orthopedic surgeon.

-Good teacher recs + a great rec from my coach
-Our counselors have so many kids that we don't get much individual attention

For personal reasons I want to attend Wash U the most. Second is a toss up between MIT and Duke. Thanks for your time, please be as honest as you can.

I don’t know my class rank exactly, but I’m in the top 5%. Thankfully, my school ranks off of weighted gpa’s and not unweighted.

Definitely in for WashU, unless they decide to waitlist you for being “overqualified”.

Washington University in St. Louis: match/high match
MIT: reach (no huge math/sci ec’s)
Yale: reach/low reach
Carneige Mellon: high match/low reach
Cal Tech: reach
Brown: low reach (reach if you mean plme)
Duke: low reach/high match

hahah please dont think you’re overqualified or something. you’re very well qualified and have a good shot at most of these schools but being overqualified for top-tier schools like washu would involve being a triple gold medalist at ipho, imo, and the real olympics.

those are some impressive xc/track times…a true distance runner
out of curiousity, do you run sub-2 800’s? nbd jw

sorry if i came across as arrogant or cocky its 2 am and i cant fall asleep

Thanks a lot for chancing me guys. Not that there’s ever any certainty in this sort of thing, but you all have given me some peace of mind.

I’ve never broken 2. I haven’t checked a Daniel’s chart, but I’m guessing that I “should” be able to break it based off of that. Due to competition within my team, I ran the 3200 at state, but because some really fast guys graduated last year, I can focus on the 16 this year (my relatively better event).

I have run an 800 once, at an indoor meet freshmen year. In my first ever track race, my coach placed me in the second heat of nine for “good competition”. I went 2:30 something and was 15 to 20 seconds behind second to last haha.

Haha, I didn’t think you came across as arrogant. I feel more diffident than over-confident. Thanks for the chance, I really appreciate it.
