Chance for Yale, Harvard, and John Hopkins! GREATLY APPRECIATED

Hello,

I am a student in a small city called Windsor, situated in Canada. In this city, there isnt many opportunities one can do to impress admission officers. There isn't any college courses or anything like that. What's worse, is I come from a <$20 000 income family. Fortunately, I've heard this is a hook. (Tells the Officers you didn't have as much opportunities in life.)

My Academics are favorable
Grade 9 Average: 94%
Grade 10 Average: 98%
Grade 11 Average: 98.25%
Grade 12 mid year Average: 97.75%

Likewise, my scores:
2390 SAT in one sitting
Perfect SAT subject tests

Unfortunately, my extra curriculars may not be as impressive:

Chess Provincials Gold Medalist x4
Chess Nationals x2 Bronze Medalist
President of Chess Club of course
Returned to my Grade School and taught players how to be better at chess; One of them is now provincial level
Created the School Yearbook entirely on my own for four years
Eco Club (No positions like president, etc) (All four years)
Key Club (Again, no positions.) (For three years only, no teacher sponsored it one year)
School Student Council (3 years) (Prime Minister for one year) (Was able to introduce a new assembly for the school)
Peer Tutoring (2 years, only allowed to do this as a grade 11 and 12.
I understand Yale wants people who work in any form of Art, for example, music, visual art, etc. I am amazing in graphic art (computer art) and will provide supplements of my work.
Owner of various education based websites. Some teach math, science, English, etc. I have gotten various THANK YOU e-mails.
School Newspaper committee (3 years)
School High Jump and Triple Jump team (Made it to city finals for multiple years, and once for the pronvincials.)
School Soccer Team (4 years)

Volunteer Work:
100+ Hours
Library, translator, hospital, etc. Average stuff

Awards: Bunch of school awards, should I even mention those to the admission guys?)

My essay is brilliant. My councilor was mesmerized from it. He said it's the best essay he's ever read. It's about an experience we've all had atleast once, and one I get a lot. I wrote about how it can help us make better choices, etc. Assuming the guy who reads my essay also experienced this, im sure he will love it!

Chance me please. Where can I improve, what things should I try?

Anyone have any comments?

No, I am not Asian. I am white.

I heard that Yale is need blind for international students too?

As a matter of fact, whenever I see a discussion of internationalism for universities, Canada is never brought up so I’m guessing no?

Thanks for the post though, it may aid me in the long run! Chance me if you will?:)

Some schools don’t put Canadians in the international pool I believe

I have a feeling this is a joke…but if not then you have a solid chance of getting into those schools. Your SAT scores are amazing and you play chess at the national level.

This is not a joke. I almost got to play chess at an international level.

By the way, is the hook for schools for just recurited athletes, or athletes in genereal?

However, my app is no where near as attractive as some I have seen on this forum.

Alright, I was just a little suspicious that you scored a 2390 single sitting without knowing the difference between isn’t and aren’t. But anywho great job! Everything looks fantastic, but being from Canada might hurt you a bit.

I’m a different person overall when writing tests.

Though by the way, the one section that troubled me was actually Writing.
