I recently fell in love with Dartmouth, so much that it is now my number one choice. However, I've heard that class rank is very important for ivy admissions, and since my public high school is VERY competitive, my rank isn't great and I feel like I shouldn't even waste effort. Being a realist, I'd like to know my chances and I'd appreciate any input anyone has.

Is there any way I can send them something else with my app to let them know who I am past numbers, scant descriptions, and a couple essays? Any advice or any comments about college apps in general?

Ultimately, should I roll the die of chance or keep the money and save my time? Thanks for spending yours helping me.
