Chance me! 36 ACT!

3.95 unweighted GPA, 4.5 weighted, all AP/honors, strong and unique extracurriculars!

Wellesley, Georgetown, Harvard, please! Thanks!

No chance for any of the schools. You should look more towards junior colleges or community colleges. I heard that McDonalds is hiring, that’s a possibility!

Yeah, I’ll definitely pick up an application the next time I’m there, lol.

Seriously though, thanks. Lol. I just want to make sure I’m not overshooting. :)

What you think constitutes “strong and unique extracurriculars” may not be what top colleges consider strong and unique aka describing your ECs would be helpful.

^ agreed .

Yeah, not enough information.

^ What these guys said. 36 ACT means nothing without class rank, # AP’s and scores, and specific extracurriculars (sports, jobs, volunteer, etc.).

Yeah you’re not automatically in anywhere just because you got a good ACT score. I got a 35 and was turned down by several schools I thought I’d be a shoo-in at.

You’ll get into excellent schools, regardless.

YEAH BASICALLY WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING IS YOUR 36 DOESN’T MATTER. I’m just kidding these people seem a bit harsh to be honest.

Wow, lots of bitter responses we got here (looks like a lot of rejection might’ve been the source).

Like someone mentioned, those “unique” extracurricular activities are quite subjective. But if you have the confidence that they will help you stand out, then by all means, don’t hesitate to apply to your desired university. It’s really how you show yourself to the administration.

With a strong gpa, course rigor, and involvement, you should be able to get into some great schools. Make sure you write really good essays if your aiming for anything in top 20. You can probably get some scholarship money from some of the top 30 schools, as well. Good job on your hard work and efforts in school!

I don’t see how anyone is bitter, including myself. Calm yourself.

A 36 is irrelevant if the OP doesn’t post anything else to substantiate a simple test score.

I kind of agree with post #8. One kid from our high school with 35 ACT, 4.0 uw GPA, top 1% with lots of ECs was turned down from Yale and Dartmouth.
