Chance me! & About midterm report

Hi. I'm freshman from Korea and trying to transfer to some other schools for fall 2013. I was wondering what my chances are..and I'll be happy if you recommend me some other schools in NYC or Boston.

My high school GPA is (unweighted) about 3.5. And it's only for my junior and senior year..I have some personal reason that might be understood. My SAT score is about 2100 but I'll take it again in this month (I hope i'll get better score this time..). Currently I'm in UCLA and my GPA is about 3.5. And my second quarter expect GPA is between 3.65 to 3.7. (I think i can update the score..I'll get it in late March.) Anyway, my major is International Relations, which is International Development Studies in UCLA. I'll have about 40 quarter credits after this quarter.

I'm not sure this will be helpful but I satisfied the language requirement level of Chinese, Japanese, and French (and of course English and Korean:D). In high school, I

participated in the orchestra for two years

suggest and lead the environmental campaign

participated in the Asian art exhibition for 2 years

wrote as an editor of school publication

did volunteer work for 4 years

worked as a volunteer translator in human rights association for children in third world countries

worked in student government

..some more activities and pretty many prizes... For college, I participate in two clubs which have similar work with the one I did in high school and keep doing the translator activity now.

Now my main target & dream school is Barnard. And I'm also considering Wellesley(Well, I know it's really hard to get into those two schools..). UCLA is great school..but too crowded for me, so I try to find much smaller- private schools. I'll really appreciate if you give me some advice, recommendation or chances :) Thank you!

*P.S. : I have one more question about midterm report... I'm not sure how to ask for signature to my professors.
- just ask them after the class
or
- send them email and visit in office hour
or
- send them email first then ask for the signature after the class.
What should I do..?

Again, thank you and good luck to everyone :)!

*Another P.S. : Um...does anyone now in UCLA know about where can I ask for the college official report? I think I should go to Murphy hall but that's all I know...

First off you seem to be doing well academically at an excellent school which is definitely a plus. I do not know off the top of my head how many transfer applicants are accepted to Barnard or Wellesley but I would imagine it is quite competitive like undergraduate.

Recommendation for schools in Boston: Tufts, Boston College, Smith College(Women’s Liberal Arts school in MA but not Boston).

NYC schools: NYU(too big for your liking?), Fordham, obvious Columiba but that is a reach

Thank you for your kind answer  I have an interest in Tufts and BC… and yeah, Columbia is super reach for me. But anyway, again, thank you for your advice!

And if you are okay, can I ask what do you think about that mid-term report question…? I think maybe just send an email and ask them after class might be fine…but I’m not sure.

I would suggest either sending then an email then asking for the signature after class or sending them an email and having them deal with it during his or her office hours. Honestly I would think either should be fine.
