Frankly, your gpa and ACT score are both average. If you're looking for Oakland, you'll have a lot of competition. IMO, you stand a better chance of getting into one of the other campuses. Read the past posts of students who have been accepted to the main campus, and that'll give you some idea of the academic competitiveness. Acceptance to UPitt Oakland is getting harder...Good luck!

What state are you from? If you're not from one of the surrounding states then being OOS will defiately help, as will being hispanic. Your ACT and GPA are definately on the low end, so that will make it tough to get into main campus. Would you conside a branch school? I know Johnstown and Greensburg are both excellent, but I haven't had much experience with the others.

i'm from florida.

It's still going to be tough to get into main campus, unless you can bring your ACT up to a 29/30.

I wouldn't bank on my dreams coming true...that said, I'd say you have a competitive profile, but you are far from definite. Definitely bring up your ACTs to the 29-30 level like Pat said, and do well your senior year to ensure your acceptance though.

If the ACT/SAT was up a bit you are in. You got AA going for you.

what is AA?

Affirmative Action. You may get a boost (or money) because being hispanic is considered a URM (under-represented minority).

Here are the scholarships available at Pitt. Notice that more than half of them are earmarked for minorities.
