Chance me and I'll Chance You :)

So, my GPA isn't too hot, nor is my SAT score, but I'm still going to try for all these schools. My mom forced me to apply to most of the IVY's and I doubt I will get into even one. But hey, you never know right? ALso, I plan to take the ACT in February since I typically do well on that one (from practice tests) than on the SAT.

Schools:
Barnard College (Deffered, ED)
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Albany
SUNY Fredonia
SUNY Buffalo
Brown U
Colgate U (I really love this school)
Columbia U
Cornell U
Dartmouth U
Duke U ( my dream school. probably won't happen :( )
Ithaca College (accepted with 18,000 merit scholarship the max. EA)
Northeastern U (Deffered, EA)
Princeton U
Sarah Lawrence U
U of Chicago (love this school too <3)
UPenn
Washington and Lee U

Leave the link to your thread and I'll reply promptly :)

Barnard - low (in a good way) match
Binghamton - low match
Brown - reach (as it is for practically everyone). No offense intended, but your ethnicity will help you.
Colgate - match
Duke - reach

If you have the time and resources, you could try increasing your SAT, which is very good, but a 1910 can probably go above a 2000 with study.

Please [chance me back!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1437274-chance-me-carnegie-mellon-cornell-chicago-will-chance-back.html)

Thanks so much for your opinion :)

Barnard - low/mid match
Ivies other than Cornell - reach
Cornell - high match
UChi - reach
Sarah Lawrence - high match
Colgate - Match
Duke - reach

Strengths: your background, race, course rigor, focused ECs
Weaknesses: SAT is on low end, SATIIs are really low

If you can present yourself well, you should have a good chance at most of the schools, but your SAT scores are a little low for the top schools and Subject tests are REALLY low, even though they aren’t valued as much. You’re a strong applicant nonetheless! Good luck! :)

Chance me back? (the title is a joke) lol

good luck with ur decisions. Please chance back!!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1436761-do-you-think-i-can-get-into-any-these-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thanks so much! I totally agree with the sat being a weakness and I was stupid to not retake it. :frowning: I took a practice act and got a 31 on it without the essay so I’m planning on taking it in February.

You can retake the SAT in jan, I’m sure most colleges on your list would consider you if you got above 2000. I’m applying ot IVies too, can you chance me too?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1437098-really-need-some-good-advice-here-2.html</a></p>

I want to take it in January but it’s during my senior trip which I already paid for. My only chance is the act :frowning: I’m doomed, I know

Honestly, I think you have a pretty good chance at almost all of those schools, except for the ivies and other top tiers cause they’re mostly reaches for everyone. but, as someone stated before, your ethnicity does help and your ecs are great! Good luck!

chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1437141-chance-me-following-sil-vous-plait.html</a></p>

I don’t know much about chancing but I have to applaud you for being in the Harry Potter Club :p

your EC’s are a serious advantage, but the tests are what is holding you back. Since you only have to send in a certain amount of subjects tests I would suggest taking those again or taking different ones asap. Someone like you with higher test scores would be irresistible to most schools

Like everyone else has mentioned above, improving your SAT scores could help. I’m also curious about your weighted GPA, because if your unweighted GPA is low, then I think that with all of your AP/honors classes, your weighted GPA may be better. I would also suggest a SLIGHT improvement in the GPA, but it isn’t too much of a big deal in my opinion since (I think) your ECs could compensate for the low GPA.

Well I have six aps in all, so my GPA (weighted) is probably much higher. Also, it’s too late for me to retake my SAT, lol. I’ve already applied to all these schools, so all I can do is hope. But thank you.
