<p>Please take chances given by other HS students with a grain of salt; they generally don’t understand how admissions work, especially for private schools; in-state public schools are a bit more formulaic.</p>
<p>If you are an Egyptian citizen and don’t need financial aid, your chances go way up, especially at private schools. Selective private schools are harder to predict; e.g., at Reed, GPA+SAT/ACT+rank together count for only 20% of admission criteria, and a 2400 SAT can be rejected if the fit is wrong for a school.</p>
