There is a section on this forum for boarding schools. You’ll get responses and info there.

I’m sorry but no chance. The FA for international students are very very limited. Even with those statistics for a student within the US, I would doubt it. Just academics aren’t good enough for these schools. If you have only good academics, they have to be super good. As in you need to be writing a novel or taking Linear algebra.

No, actually, Andover is need blind. I’m going to be honest; if what you say is true, you probably will get in to Andover. You are truly an applicant to be reckoned with. Not only straight A’s but straight A+'s? Not to mention the powerful music E.C.s, good writing awards, etc. The other schools might possibly accept you for Full Need, but Andover’s need blind policy is most likely going to be your savior in this case.

Really? Did you notice the OP failed to mention his or her SSAT score? GPA, standing alone, means very little.

@ThisOneKid Even if you’re needblind, it doesn’t mean for international students. It only means for domestic.

From Andover’s website regarding need-blind admission, “We have expanded our targeted recruitment areas to the U.S. Southeast, West, and Midwest, and internationally to South Africa, China, India, Brazil, and Great Britain… As an American school with a dynamic worldview, we search the United States and the globe for students with the most to gain and the most to give.”

This implies it is open to all countries. It would not mention these aspects if it were targeted at only domestic applicants. Researching is a thing, you know.

Oh, and @Dodgersmom: Really? SSAT score? You do realize, especially in an application like his, that as long as it is 85%+ he’s pretty much guaranteed admission. And even then, he’s going to be a powerful applicant. Do you really expect anything less out of someone with his credentials? Come on…

My bad then. I was mistaken. Good luck OP!

There are no guarantees for anyone.

Darn it, ChoatieMom, you beat me to it! :)

We can all wish the OP the best of luck, but the truth is that no one is “guaranteed admission” at any of the schools the OP is applying to.

The good news is that, given what the OP has already accomplished, he or she is bound to flourish wherever he/she ends up.

Again, best wishes to the OP - I hope it works out for you!

Even if you’re the headmaster’s kid…?

Andover does not have need blind admission for FA students. Does it still give FA to international students? Yes, if your application impresses them enough. but your chances are much tougher. Even Lawrenceville has given full aid to international students, but in the form of Davis Scholarship–I personally know a case from my own country (a small nation in South East Asia).

@OP: you have great stats and great a chance of getting in, but there is no such thing as “guaranteed admission.” And +1 to dodgersmom. You should feel proud of yourself for having had such accomplishments, no matter what.

Not enough info to chance fairly. No mention of SSAT scores. No mention of what level Math, History, Science, etc. No mention on whether they are honors courses or not. He did state “6) also i am taking ap’s in history , economics and psychology,” yet when he posted his courses and grades at the outset of his post there is no mention of a grade in AP Eco nor AP Psych.

EC’s are phenomenal, but without knowing SSAT scores and what the real courses he is taking it’s impossible to chance someone who posts “English A+, Math A+, Science A+, History A+, etc.”

Lastly, he specifically mentions “No sports.” While I recognize many kids get into boarding schools with “No Sports,” do international kids that need full FA get into Exeter/Andover/Lawrenceville with “No Sports?” I’m sure there are kids who do, and I bet they are fantastically bright kids. Unfortunately “I” can’t tell anything from the generic naming of the courses the OP listed and no SSAT scores were listed so I do not think one can say he has a “Great Chance” without posting that info.

As you are already 15 years old, I am guessing that you are looking at applying in next year’s admissions cycle to enroll as a Junior. Be aware that there are very few spaces available for Juniors.

Requiring full FA as an int’l applicant is likely to be a deal killer. I have heard of ONLY ONE full FA int’l student, EVER, in any school. This kid was an orphan from a war-ravaged country and was an award-winning film maker-- I am not making this up.

Even if by some miracle a school offered u a generous FA package, could you still afford to go to school in the U.S.? Flying back n forth from India for school breaks 4 times a year is fairly pricey.

gmtplus7 , i appreciate ur honest comment on my chances but are you from exeter , andover or lawrenceville or taft or something? if so then the reply might be useful.

and i wont be flying 2 to and fro from usa to india, i will be staying with my relatives in chicago. that wont cost me much k.

thisonekid, thanks for your opinion.

to -bshopeful2013,dodgersmom and all those who asked for the ssat score

its 2316/2400 …is that good enough guys??

and thanks 2 one and all whatever their opinion for spending their time to help me out and providing info…

bshopeful2013

“No mention of what level Math, History, Science, etc. No mention on whether they are honors courses or not”

actually there’s a reason that i haven’t mentioned whether they are honour courses or not. the reason simply is that here in india (in most schools) we have no such thing as honour courses or regular courses. you must understand that the educ. system in india is drastically diffrent from that of america or other countries. here every student has to study the same courses in a subject ( till the 10th grade) . theres the same core curicullum 2 be studied in a subject…

Do you have CBSE scores? I would send those.
