I understand that Brown and NYU are essentially impossible reaches. I likely won't apply.

Brown and The University of Newyork are going to be hard to get into ( reach )
Northeastern ( reach )
Emerson ( match/slight reach)
RIC (Match)
URI (Low match)
PC ( Not sure)
BC ( High match)
BU ( not sure )

just my opinion I think you have good chances at some of your picks! NYU is probally the best reach you have ( in chances of getting in) ( if your a newyork resident) Good luck man!

I should have said this from the start, I live in Cranston, Rhode Island.

I’d say that Brown is probably an extreme reach, especially since you will undoubtedly face very high local competition. “JHUEnthusiast” doesn’t seem to know that NYU is a private university and state residency plays no role in admission (or can actually be slightly detrimental). Would you apply to Gallatin or Arts & Sciences? Gallatin is tiny, but quirky - more like Reed or Bard in terms of holistic admissions - and so it might be a perfect fit. I think they’d like your Writing and CR scores, but they’re unpredictable. People with higher stats than yours have been rejected, while seemingly less-qualified ones have gotten in. I’d say that NYU Arts & Sciences is a high match. Emerson is probably a strong match, since they don’t care as much about Math grades and scores (provided they’re not disastrous), and you will not be auditioning. I recommend assembling some first-rate writing samples for them. BU should be a high match, PC a low-mid match, BC a high-match/low reach, URI pretty safe . . . I don’t know much about RIC, but suspect it’s a low-match or safe school for you. Northeastern should be a match, but I’m not sure whether it would be the best fit for you academically or socially - it is strongest in pre-professional programs. Why not try for Wheaton or Connecticut College, if you want to remain fairly close to home?

Brown ( high reach )
NYU (reach)
Northeastern ( reach )
Emerson ( Low Reach)
RIC (Match)
URI (High match)
PC ( Match)
BC ( Low match)
BU ( Match )
