Beth

Is that a typo on your unweighted GPA? Almost has to be.

I will wait for your reply before chancing you, but I will say you should only use your SAT’s and forget you took the ACT. Your SAT is equivalent to a 32-33 ACT.

Thanks fallen -

To clarify, my unweighted gpa is closer to 3.3, the 3.0 is if one backs out all non-academic classes (I’m sandbagging a bit, but not by much). The 4.0 is on a 5 point scale and results from nearly all of my classes being Honors, AP, or IB. I didn’t submit my ACTs except where I needed to submit subject tests (like I said all of my sections were 33 or above except science, which was sub-20).

Thanks!

BTW - I shouldn’t have included Fordham on the list - I got in with $15,000/yr merit scholarship.

Ah, so you are a senior. I assumed you were a junior, because to chance at this point is just an exercise to satisfy your completely normal and understandable anxiousness. You will know from the others very soon.

It is always hard to say, but of the schools you listed (other than Fordham which you got into, super congrats! A friend has a daughter there that likes it very much) I would say Tulane is the only one you have more than a small chance of getting into, unless you are instate at UVA. Even then it is not a great chance, but certainly better than if you are OOS. Your chances at Tulane are a bit better, but they have had a very strong set of applications this year and it looks like they are getting higher quality (academically) kids than in the past accepting their offer. The thing that makes it hard in your case is that your SAT’s are much better than your grades. Schools go by unweighted GPA and then take into account the challenge of your schedule. Obviously yours was challenging, but a 3.3 is not at the level these schools usually look for. But it certainly isn’t impossible either, just don’t be surprised if Fordham is the only one of that group that comes through.

Well since you already applied, I’m telling you you’re not getting into Duke.

Agreed on most all points (MattNC’s too - way to be thinking ahead kid). And yes, I’m late-chancing to soothe my nerves. Admitted also to Furman and Clemson ($14,000/yr merit scholarship).

BC- Mid Reach
Vandy- High Reach
Tulane- Mid Reach
BU- In
Duke- High, High Reach
UVA- Mid Reach
Fordham- Low Reach
Can you chance me back please
