Boston Children’s Choir: Very time consuming but I love music. I am in the highest ranking choir and with the choir I have sung at Symphony Hall, done international tours, some Red Sox games and our album was nominated for a Grammy. Theres a lot more to it but I do not feel like getting into it (9-12

Learning Indian Carnatic Music from a world renowned teacher. Performed at a large Indian music school Junior year

Chamber Choir: Vice President Junior Year and Senior Year (9-12)

Madrigal Singing: Highly selective school a-cappella group, the madrigal “queen” senior year (9-12)

ADL (Anti Defamation League): Works with my school to help create a safe space in support of racial bias, homophobia, transphobia, (etc) (10-12)

My recommendations are great, especially from my choir teacher

I worked really hard on my essay, I’m not sure if it’s stand out but it really demonstrates me and my style

You are definitely looking good for them. Keep in mind that they are reaches for everyone. What is your intended major? I hope that you applied to a range of safeties/matches.

You have a really good chance, but I wouldn’t submit the choir teacher unless you’re definitely going to put music as your first major, in which case you have to submit a music sample. You should have a stem and non-stem teacher, along with the GC, and that’s it. If you have a clear first choice and can afford it, then SCEA or ED would be worth it. Good luck!

Be cautious about “real good chance” and “looking good”. Your background means your are a solid candidate for the schools listed and will make it past the first wave when they weed out the students who just tossed in an application to their “dream school” with a resume that falls well short of a typical admitted student.

Once past this bar, your admission chances go up from 8-15% to maybe 20-30%. Once past GPA, SAT, etc., it comes down to essays, recommendations, and “fit”, which no one can really predict.
