Your GPA is good for Clemson, but the ACT has got to come up more than one point. I would aim for at least a 29+ to have more of a shot-- buy a new ACT book and you should be able to bring it up quickly. Good luck!
I agree with @bluedog25 GPA is great, if you get your test score up to 29 you should be golden.
You look like a strong applicant except, like the previous post said, ACT is on the lower side, however it doesn’t put you out of the running. If you retake and get above a 28 I would say you have a very good shot.
I think you will be waitlisted and ultimately offered Spring admission. That is what happened to my 3.6 uwGPA/4.8 wGPA/27ACT, 74/577 class rank, varsity cheer captain, NHS DD from Texas. I agree that you need to cross the 28 ACT mark, particularly as an OOS student. Good Luck!
The ACT is below the average, and it’s more competitive if you’re out of state. Here’s the real problem. The tuition is triple the cost of going in-state. This makes the cost far more than any benefit you might have going out of state.
@coolguy40. It is closer to twice as expensive not three times for someone from Illinios to go to Clemson than say University of Illinois. Its about $28,000 to for instate UIllinois vs. about $48,000 for OOS student to go to Clemson.
