Chance me at Columbia

I'm entering my senior year at high school this year, and was wondering what my chances were for Pre-Med at Columbia (Possibly ED).

GPA: 3.7-3.8 unweighted 6.5/7 weighted over 3 years(Top 6-7% of class, but haven't yet received updated rank)
SAT 1: 760 Math, 800 CR, 720 Writing
SAT 2: (Will take Math II and Biology in the Fall)

My public school in NJ is one of the more challenging and recognized in the state. I will have taken 2 Accelerated courses (both freshman year in non-science/math classes), 12 Honors courses (No AP offered), and 6 AP classes by the time I graduate. I am also a year ahead in math.

This summer I will be attending a highly selective 5-week summer medical program. It consists of didactic, clinical, and research components. I will shadow doctors during clinical rotations and observe surgeries.

Your chances are OK. Make sure to highlight your premed leanings on the application.

Your chances at getting in seem pretty good to me. Though my stats were different in certain areas, your resume is very similar to mine, and I was accepted as a C.P. Davis Scholar. (Note: I am going to be attending SEAS, and I am unsure of which school, within Columbia, you would like to attend). I, like you, participated in marching band, concert band, and jazz band (all as the lead alto player). It’s good that you took Multivarialble calculus too =). If I were you, I would make sure to present the entirety of my strengths in my application. Don’t hesitate to list all AP scores and Region/State band awards as well. Also, besides school related topics, list those things that you do outside of school such as non-schoolastic tennis tourneys and community service (i.e. habitat for humanity, community projects). Good luck :)
