CommonApp about playing piano for ten years and how it relaxes me - written as though it goes along with the highs and lows of my favorite song to play
Why Columbia - opportunity to grow as a student and person, opportunities in NYC, diverse student body --> pretty typical essay
Meaningful Publication - book about teenage suicide and how I want to stop bullying - how I have made an effort in my school through starting clubs to make a stop
Why my major - interest in medicine because I am fascinated by science and research, saving lives, and I love literature
My recommendations were very good - one from Math teacher and one from APUSH teacher</p>
<p>ECs - a whole ton of community service (Habitat for Humanity), VP National Honor Society, VP Class Council, VP Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse, VP S.A.D.D., member of town's Leadership Council, Captain of Tennis and Track teams, All-Division two years for tennis, Sportsmanship Award two years for tennis, All-Division Honors for track, ranked 33rd in the country and went to nationals freshman and junior years, VP Foreign Language Club, Foreign Language Honor Society, part time job for five years, attended National Student Leadership Conference for Engineering </p>
<p>I was not asked for an interview, but those are not required.</p>
