you have a great chance and your application truly is interesting.

Why does Harvard describe all of its diverse candidates as interesting?
They need a better word, it's unusual to say the least.

so you mean unusual as in a good way or bad?

any other chances please?

I don't know about you.

Good stats but it's still early to tell....

thank you, what else would you recommend I do to give myself a better chance?

Insha'allah

thank you akahmed. :-). where are you from?

i think you have a shot. and i would take the world interesting as good, not bad. but thats just me.

My family is originally from Pakistan, 200 years ago, then they moved to East Africa, stayed for 100 years, and now we are here in the US. I am also applying to Harvard and the mental stress is killing me. :)

hey smartafkid, I am from Afghanistan too. This is the first time I am reading an Afghans chance me post. I'am jealous. lol Alot of your stats are very similar to mine. Like your APs and possilbe SAT score, even your essay topic. I hate you (i mean it in a good way) because I though I was the only Afghan applying and thought I would really standout.
Like akamed said, Insha'allah you will get into Harvard. Tashwish naco :)

mar1ami were in Afghanistan are you from? I was originally born in Pakistan, but I lived in Afghanistan and my citizenship is with them. I thought I was the only afghan on this forum but I guess I was wrong :-)

and yes I can't wait to apply to Harvard

I’m from Jawsjaan province. The town I lived in is very close to Masari-sharif (like 6 miles). I was born and raised there until the Taliban regime took over in 1996. We moved to the US seven years ago. What part of Afghanistan are you/family from? How long have you been in the US?

We lived very close to Kabul, I too moved a while ago. I have been in the United States for about 8 years now. I wish I could go back and visit but it is still to dangerous.

Yeah, your right it is too dangerous. I am not that informed about the whole college process, so here it goes. What does URM mean? Is it a good thing?
Thanks

URM = Under Represented Minority and yes in my opinion it is a good thing.
