<p>Hi I am a Junior in high school. I am starting to look at colleges and NU caught my eye. I have a cumulative 4.3 GPA, weighted. That ranks my 16 in my class of 600 students. I have an ACT of a 30, I did two years of honors advanced foreign language: 2 honors and 3 honors. I am a member of NHS which I hope to be VP of next year. I am also in investment club, scholastic bowl, and the varsity tennis team. I started the debate team at my school and am captain of it. I led a kairos retreat, have good interviewing skills, leadership, contacts, and writing skills. I am very involved in my church and an usher and Eucharist minister as well as member of the youth group. I got a 5 on my AP world History exam and took 4-5 honors/AP every year. So are my chances okay at NU? Let me know! Thanks for your time!</p>

<p>Your ACT score is kind of low but your GPA is good. What other AP’s have you taken and what scores did you get on them?</p>

<p>What did you get on the subsections breakdown for the ACT?</p>

<p>Reading 33, science 28, Math 28, English 29. I will be taking more ACT’s however. As for AP My school does not offer any AP classes until Sophomore year, and they only offer one that year, so I only have one exam under my belt. I will be taking two this may, I expect to do well but I can’t say definitively what I will get. </p>

<p>How much higher should my ACT be for NU? </p>

<p>My school does the same thing for AP’s so it shouldn’t be that big a deal (I hope). Your cumulative ACT for Northwestern should be at least 31 which doesn’t sound like much of a difference but the sections that carry more weight are Math and English which are your lowest sections so if I were you I would focus on them and get them above 30.</p>
