There are probably more things I could list. I can't think of anything else I would put down on an application. I'm a vegetarian, by choice 2-3 years ago. I lived my life the way I wanted to; I have never represented anything that was insincere. I hope I'd have good chances with the perfect ACT and devotion to hockey. Either way, I have no regrets. I'm very satisfied with my life at this point.

Thank you for your input.

Lol, this is the third post of yours I’ve come across. I’ll say 45%, just make sure that you actually like all the Ivy League schools you’re applying to.

Yeah haha… Princeton is actually my top choice right now (I think)… although I still need to visit all the schools at which I’m looking. I’m just kind of interested in seeing how I would stack up, if I happened to choose each of these schools. Stanford holds interest, although the distance from home is turning me away from it.

Great stats! Are you trying to be recruited to play hockey in college? Are you in communication with coaches? For your hockey to be a big push/hook, you’ll have to be recruitable.

If your hockey will simply be an extracurricular, you’ll have to show some other passion in your app. Good luck.

I don’t really have to many passions. I have school… so does everyone applying… and the hockey involvement/volunteerism. My biggest pushes (I thought) were the perfect ACT, 4.0/4.92 GPA and the hockey.
I’d truly prefer not to play, at lest for freshman year, as I want to get adjusted to my course load before I play. Any other advice?

There’s nothing wrong with that SAT score. The fact that you will be self-studying APs helps. But what is your one unique thing? Is there some way you can relate your academics to hockey, possibly? Your devotion to hockey definitely shows passion, but if you can write some great essays you’d have a great application. What do you plan on writing about? And get started soon.

I really have no idea what I am going to write about. Probably sled hockey, because that is the most interesting activity with which I have been involved… but no concrete ideas as of yet. In that, I can incorporate hockey… I don’t see how I can incorporate academics into any essays…

Ec is average. 2 leadership positions, varsity sport, NHS. Standard ivy applicant stuff. What really stands out is the perfect GPA, even weighted. Unless your school is unredemptively inflating grades, i think it is safe to assume you are Valedictorian?
If grade inflation is apparent in your school, your chances will be greatly depressed.
All and all, great application (unless you are Asian because we get 2400/ 4.00/ 36/ 5 on APs like no other). Id put your chances at 60%+.

I’m white. I’m actually not the valedictorian… weak freshman year grades did that in (I got a 4.44). And I took A.P. Physics as a junior… one of only two juniors to do so (the other has perfect test scores as well).
There is not grade inflation… our grade is just highly competitive. We have 15+ 35s on the ACT and two perfects…
But if freshman year were not counted, I’d definitely be the valedictorian.

How can I boost my ECs? I commit so much time to hockey as it is?

I would just keep going the way you are. You seem very focused, and starting to add ECs at this point would just seem like resume padding. Unless you want to organize some community event or start a fundraiser involving hockey that makes a lot of money for charity…

GPA 3.0
SAT I - 1800

SAT IIs - still waiting to hear

All American Lacrosse player since freshman year (junior now)
received letters from all 8 ivy schools so far for recruiting

  • Johns Hopkins, Syracuse, Northwestern, Notre Dame,
but Princeton is my 1st choice

If you’re a recruit, aren’t you basically guaranteed to get in?

Well the coaches sent a list of the recruits they want to admissions.
But admissions makes the final decision.
my SAT/GPA are not comparable to those of competitive candidates however

Tourdefrance-you’re wise to see that receiving letters from all the coaches is not the same as getting accepted by admissions. Have you considered taking the ACT to see if that score would surpass your SAT?

bump for the fact that SAT IIs came back.

800 physics
790 chemistry
770 USH
(can almost guarantee an 800 math 2 when i take it next year)
so as of now it’s 2360/2400

with this new information… new chances?

Your resume is perfect! Just write good essays and you will have a great chance! :)

This is a big bump from the past, kellian. I wonder if the kid got in, though.
