White, Male, Have a sister currently a Wake Forest student, Senior, Fall of 2017 RD Applicant.
GPA: 3.73 UW; 4.38 W (GPA is low because I did poorly my freshman year)
My school doesn’t do class percentages.
ACT: 32
Reading: 36
English: 35
Science 30
Math: 28
AP Eng Lang: 5
AP US History: 4
AP World History: 3
(I don’t have many AP’s because I am mostly an IB student)
I am enrolled in mostly IB courses. This year, I am taking 5 IB courses (three HL’s and two Sl’s). My junior year was pretty much the same and my sophomore and freshman year also had strong course loads. I have relatively strong activities: two varsity activities, sports captain, NHS, etc.
Wake Forest is high on my list and I hope that having a sister there would help a little bit. I plan to major in International Relations. Please share some thoughts.
Also, William and Mary is very high on my list and any feedback for my chances there (if any) would be great. Also to add, I am from California.
Current student there doing international relations related work. William & Mary is tough to get into from out of state, but it is an excellent school for international relations. See my previous post about it here:

Thanks,
That was very helpful. Hope to get in and potentially study policy and diplomacy there.
Being a male is a huge benefit at William & Mary. If you look at the common data set, it’s overwhelmingly females who apply. You should have a great chance there I would expect. How on earth is a 4.38 a low GPA? At my school that is the top 1% of the class!
Hey! I was accepted to wake early decision with a 3.7 unweighted and only 1 AP course taken (APUSH grade was a 5)…a total of 4 including senior year’s and a 1310/1600 for new SATs…so I think you have like a really good chance (but I’m not really too qualified for this…haha)
@jesstennisxx didn’t you apply to NYU EDII ? How could you have been accepted to Wake Early as well?
hey erhm i was accepted on October 22nd, but then my application went up for re-review because I made a schedule change from AP calc to AP stats and wake has a strict no schedule change policy, so 2 months after being accepted they unfortunately decided to defer me. so that happened, sorry I just tried to help but yeah lol, so I was able to apply ed 2 to another school.
@jesstennisxx Wow that sucks. I’m sorry. Hope NYU comes through for you!
