I was just curious about my chances at getting into Wake. Currently, I have a weighted GPA of 3.9. I have taken 1 AP course (APUSH), but currently taking 3 (Chem, Psych, Lit and Comp). In those classes I have 72, 95, and 90 respectively. I had a 95 in APUSH. I have been on student government since freshman year and have been class president twice, freshman year and my junior year, this year. I have been in marching band since starting high school as well. I am a member of my school’s competitive Quiz Bowl team. Currently I am a semifinalist for the Governor’s Honors Program in Georgia. I am going through the application process for GHP now. I am a member of NHS as well and compete at Academic Pentathlon contests in the region. As a requirement for NHS, I have plenty of community service hours. I just want to know my chances of getting into Wake. Are there any other great universities that I am likely to get accepted into in the Southeast?
*If it means anything, I’m a black male and will be the first in my family to go to a four year university (both parents went to community college)
Black, first gen, 3.9 are all good. Work on bringing up that 72 by a lot. Write good essays and you’ve got a good shot.
Thanks for the response. Wake is my first choice then Alabama. I know I have areally good shot at UA.
