Obviously, I am no prodigy. However, my class schedule for my school was particularly rigorous and I never received below a B. Also, I believe that being OOS it gives me a slight advantage. What do you think?

Indeed the OOS advantage appears to be increasing… I’d say you have a decent shot at UCI and Pepperdine, SD and LA would be reaches (LA more so). Might want to pick a safety school in CA if you’re so intent on coming here (especially with OOS fees, yikes).

I had the impression that Cali schools took a huge portion of their freshman class from Cali. Sounds like a disadvantage to me. Don’t know enough to comment on the rest, sorry.

At most UC schools the acceptance rate is higher for OOS than for in-state. More in-state matriculate than OOS, however.

Of course they take a huge percentage of their class from CA. It costs 55k to come OOS, and there aren’t too many people who have that kind of money.

The OOS acceptance rate is definitely higher, but you gotta be able to pay that ridiculous tuition with no financial aid.

SD and LA are definitely reaches. You have a decent shot at UCI and Pepperdine but they certainly aren’t safeties. You need a few safety schools if you really wanna come to CA.

Thank you guys for the responses. What are some good safety colleges for me?

What’s your budget?

I think some of lower UC schools are definitely in your reach, as califonia gov is suffering from lack of fiance and decided to accept huge portions of OOS students to pay for it.
So as long as you are willing to pay ridiculous fees, you will be fine.

@alwaysleah All of my choices will be within my budget.

@honghyunlee which schools in particular?
