<p>GPA: Total GPA: 4.16/3.61 Academic GPA: 4.18/3.55 10-12 GPA: 4.23/3.42 (Basically H=high rigor but a bunch of B's)</p>

<p>Currently taking 5 AP's Senior year,
and has taken 7 AP's at School up until this point,
extremely high rigor (hence the gap of over .8 in my 10-12 gpa)</p>

<p>No class rank, but considering my GPA I'd say within top 25%, highest GPAs in class range from 4.5-4.65</p>

<p>Essays: They aren't amazing but they aren't bad either, 6-7/10, 10 being Ivy League material</p>

<p>Other: Family troubles including domestic violence, etc which involved some court cases, police, and took place around the time of my junior year.</p>

<p>So that's basically it, I realize I have a low GPA and my extracurriculars and awards aren't fantastic. In terms of personality, I have been told by teachers that I am a good fit, but due to personal circumstances, I have not been able to visit the campus and schedule an interview. I hear there is an optional video supplement after I submit so I will look into that for sure. What would you say my chances are?</p>

<p>Who knows. ED rejections came out today and lots of seemingly qualified kids were sent packing. I think that, regardless of your qualifications, because it is so selective, CMC will be a long shot.</p>

<p>Yeah it really surprised me… I’m starting to think that they just split two large pools: Qualified and Unqualified and just throw darts at the qualified pool…</p>

<p>I hate to be harsh but your uw gpa is pretty low, and your extracurrics don’t seem to be geared towards business or politics. That being said, a lot of people were rejected from ED1 which could mean that there are more open spots for ED2, so don’t rule yourself out. Good luck!</p>

I think the admissions committee will ask “This candidate is obviously very smart, but he has a low GPA. Why is that?” That’ll probably come out in the letters of rec.
