Chance me (Computer Science/Business) - 2220 SAT

Wanted to give this a try since I just got my SAT score... I'm Junior interested in majoring in both Computer Science and Business and it would be great if anyone can chance me for possible colleges that I can get into for these fields (Chances for some Ivies would be nice too). I live in NY so I would prefer in-state but out of state could be an option as well.

Academics:
SAT I: 2220 - 700CR 760M 760W (First time taking it last month, probably won't retake)
SAT II: Planning to take Math & Physics at the end of this Junior year
GPA: Most likely above 4. My school does 100 point system and with weighted classes, I always get over 100 as the average. (Unweighted should still be somewhat high)
Rank: I would think top 10% but not sure yet.
AP Tests: AP Euro (4)
Current classes: AP English, AP US, AP Computer Science, IB Spanish 4, Math 11H/IB Calculus, Physics Honors, Symphony Orchestra Honors, Animation
Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) (Also an Officer this year - Secretary)

Activities:
Suffolk County Math Fair (since Middle School) Bronze in 9th & 10th
Mathletes Club (Since 9th grade)
Computer Club (Since 9th grade)
Chess Club (Starting this year)
Science Olympiad (Starting this year)
President's Volunteer Service Award (Silver, 9th grade) from KAYO (Korean American Youth Orchestra)
Alter Service in Church since Middle School (I'm sure 100+ hours)
Volunteer Service at local Nursing Home
Local Youth Center Soccer
Local Youth Center Basketball (9th & 10th, not this year)
Running an online business (Started during Summer going into 9th grade but sold that one for 1.3 grand after a year and started a new one)
Running a forum (somewhat inactive due to lack of time)
Been working as an online live chat agent for about a year now

Ethnicity: South Korean (is this bad? :P) - came to US in 2005

Bump chance please :/

Would it be easier to chance me if I give some colleges? :stuck_out_tongue: If so, how about CMU and Princeton?

As for Princeton, idk, because all Ivied are a toss up. CMU does seem reachable however. Best of luck!

Thanks. Know any other good schools for these majors that are reach/match for my current scores, etc.?

Bump. Just looking for one solid detailed chance me reply. If you need more info just ask.

Princeton: Reach
CMU: Low reach

And below, my personal recommendations (assuming you can pay full-freight to any; this list is CS-heavy other than for UWI):

UIUC: Low match
UWA: Safety
UWI: Safety
Berkeley: Match (Haas is a high match)
UCSD: Low match
Georgia Tech: Safety
U Toronto: Low match (both Rotman and CS)
U Waterloo: Safety
UBC: Safety

Thanks for the reply! I’m not sure about paying full-freight; I know my parents expect to get at least some financial aid since I have a twin who’ll also be going to college the same year. Would that change things?

UCSD and Berkeley are sensitive to payment capability so I assume these two schools are out of the question. A few more in-state options:

Stony Brook: Safety
Albany: Safety
Buffalo: Safety
Binghamton: Low match
Baruch (regular): Safety
Baruch (Macaulay): Match

If you can get into Macaulay from Baruch, you’ll get full-tuition guaranteed.

Berkeley UMICH and CMU are all good schools for both business and compsci

You have good stats to get in those so far

If you’re looking to get into the higher up Ivies or Stanford however, you may wanna consider raising that SAT score to about ~2300

Thanks again Catria. Do you know anything about CMU and their financial aid?

Also ahova, when you say “good stats to get in”, would you say they are reach or match? And when you guys say low reach and match, how big is the difference?

I think my 2220 would be my superscore for the SAT (even though I’m taken it just once, it’s my highest score from Practice Tests, etc.)

what schools are u trying to get into lol

I asked for recommendations of schools based on my stats but if you can’t do that, chance me for CMU & Princeton. (Also about their financial aids, etc.)

Bump. Chance me for CMU and Princeton but if you know more in-state schools that are high match / low reach for me, please let me know. :D

Bump. Just got another school that I’d like to be chanced for: USC :D

USC: High match

Oh that’s good to hear. Can you tell me if USC is a good school for both Computer Science and Business? I heard it’s strong in CS but not sure about Business. And do you know anything about financial aid from USC and CMU?

Also because I’m interested in both business and computer science, if I were to choose CMU, should I go for Tepper for CIT? Does one have a higher competition over the other?
