Chance me: CS transfer to UWash/UTAustin/Madison/...

Looking to get in to these schools for computer science. I will be applying to get in as a junior.

University of Washingtion - Seattle
University of Texas - Austin
University of Wisconsin - Madison (I'm a WI resident)
Cornell University
USC

HS GPA: 3.5
I attended a reputable private school freshman year, transferred out due to cost/switching majors to CS. Next year attended an easy state univerity and received a 4.0.
Cumulative GPA: 3.65

Reason for transferring: started as a business student, and schools I went to were awful for computer science/engineering. Also, since I am an entrepreneur it is important for me to take advantage of being in a place where people have similar interests in tech entrepreneurship.

Accomplishments: co-founded a web start-up last summer that is profitable and my main source of work/income. I am still currently working on it and deciding where to take it with my co-founder. Other accomplishments are not as significant, but include being in various clubs, and some volunteer roles.

If you are interested in the University of Washington, you should contact them to ask if your stats measure up. CS is a competitive major at the UW and only about 25% of the applicants are accepted although I’ve heard if you have competitive stats that you have a 40% chance of making it into the program. Look at their Web site and make sure you have taken all the prerequisites to apply for the CS program. You’ll need to apply at the first opportunity so you don’t have to wait for the next application cycle.
