I'm entering my second year and will have 60 semester units by the end of fall semester. I have a 3.0 GPA but that might go up a little. What are my chances of transferring to UCSB as a Business or English major?

To be honest your chances are slim to none. Transfers from community college barely make the cut with a 3.0, but the fact that you’re from a CSU depletes your chances.

i know people that have transferred to ucsb with a 3.2 for bus econ, but im pretty sure the TAG helped a lot.

bus econ is impacted, not sure about english. if you’re thinking about applying, make sure you have all of the pre-reqs done.

transferring straight from a CSU might make it more difficult, but not impossible. you can always apply and try to bring your gpa up this fall.

my gf xfer’d from a CC with a 3.1 and got into the bus econ program(last year). I think I’ve read cc xfers get priority over csu xfers though. if you have all of the required pre reqs done I think you have decent odds.
