UCSD may be a low reach, mainly due to your GPA. I think UCI, UCSB, and UCD would be closer to being matches for you among the UC’s. Go to the link below, click on “Custom Tables”, answer a few questions, and enter up to 3 characteristics at a time such as GPA, overall SAT score, etc. to see what UC Statfinder shows your admission rate to be:

Since there’s not much you can do to raise your GPA at this stage, write a really strong personal statement. I think your test scores are in range, except that CR on the SAT I brought your score down. It will still hinge on your GPA, in my opinion.

i have been reading a bunch of posts nad som say that write a strong PS and some say write a strong one, but UCSD doesn’t really “care” too much for it… it just looks for points and all… i am going to be turning my applicaiton on Tuesday, the day i get the lovely SAT scores lol! but i was just wondering anyone…

oh and to keep the topic the same:
yes i agree with jshain… UCSD would be a reach (im not into the high/low cuz i dont know what that means myself) but its cuz of your GPA

yeah. i’m not too sure about the high/low. i read another chance me, and one person said borderline. but i’m not taking risks. i should still write a really strong essay and personal statement, so far i’m doing quite well on it, just need a few corrections here and there. i have backup colleges like uci and ucd and a few others, but i really want to get into ucsd. XD well thanks anyways
