Davis, Irvine, La are all good shots. Berkeley may be a bit of a reach because of the SAT score (Keep in mind that UC’s seem to care more about stats than other schools–or so I’ve heard). But I also have friends who scored 2300’s and didn’t make it to Irvine.
I guess it’s all about luck!

Thank you for your words! I really appreciate it :)

Any other opinions?

You have a strong chance at all of them but Berkeley. You really should bring your critical reading score up, otherwise you’re fine. Berkeley might be a low reach.

Just with admissions in general, I think you’ll be a much more successful applicant to state schools (basically anywhere without holistic admissions) because your extracurricular are really mundane and (at least on paper) make you look not involved in your school/community.

Chance me back? Good luck

I appreciate your words violinkid111…I just chanced you back!!

Any other thoughts? I’m curious to see what colleges see as decent/exceptional ec’s?

indoman081, In my experience, the most successful applicants tend to be focused on one or two core groups of extracurriculars. Usually they fall into the categories of art, leadership, community service, or academics. Often times they fall into multiple categories, but the message is clear on the student’s application: he/she is truly committed to something and will make a lasting impact in his/her community. Colleges like to see students who are visible in their respective communities, so they have an active and vibrant campus community that comes out of their accepted class. That’s why ECs are important (they also can further an academic interest too).

What is your unweighed GPA. If it is above 3.7, you have a good chance at most of the UCs. However, your ECs are weak.

Cal - reach
LA - low reach
SD - match
Irvine, Davis - low matches

What you really need is something that separates you from everyone else, your stats are good, you ECs are good, but nothing really says WE NEED THIS KID AT OUR SCHOOL. Now, I bet you have something that sets you apart, you just need to capitalize on it.

Chance me back?
