Chance Me!!!! Davidson, NYU, Syracuse, GWU, etc. Please!!!!

I am a senior in high school living in California.

UW GPA: 3.8
Weighted GPA: 4.23
I am number 18 in my class out of 503.

EIC of my high school newspaper, President of a debate club, member of an anti bullying club, have been playing piano for 11 years, on varsity sports team for 3 years, have about 160 hours of volunteer work at hospital and senior center

Sat score: composite - 1910. CR: 620 MATH: 630 WRITING: 660 (I know it’s not great, I tried my best to get it up but I just couldn’t for some reason, I’m afraid this will be the reason why I don’t get into certain schools :-()

White female with low income family, just including some background

My declared major is either going to be history or political science, not totally sure. Can you guys give me any advice on what majors are easier to get into for certain schools? (Or is that a total myth haha)

I know some of these are really hard to get into but I am just wondering.

CHANCE ME FOR (I realize all of these schools are pretty different. I’m not 100% sure what kind of school I want to go to yet but I like all of these schools):
NYU, Davidson, Bucknell, Syracuse, The George Washington University, wake forest university, Colgate university, USC, u Michigan Ann Arbor, Boston university, Boston college, Tulane. Sorry that’s a lot haha

Should I even bother applying to some of the ones I listed?? Please let me know

bump

If you are ok with LSP you can probably get into NYU. Everything but U Mich and Boston College should be in reach.

Your scores are too low for all the schools except GW and Syracuse.

@ChoMama what is LSP? i know its liberal studies program but why is it different?

Why are you applying to schools that don’t meet full need?

If you are low income, some of these schools will not be affordable.

Compare your list to the schools on this list. I don’t think BU, Tulane, Syracue, NYU and GWU meet full need. This is off the top of my head…others may not meet full need so check. You could consider one of the all women schools that are part of a larger consortium. Schools like Bryn Mawr and Mount Holyoke have excellent aid.
And sort the list by ranking order and consider schools toward the lower end of the rankings.

You might apply to test optional schools. Are you a first generation college student?

I just want to have options in April. Thanks for the list @txstella
