Chance Me!!!! Davidson, NYU, Syracuse, GWU, etc. Please!!!!

Wow, first of all, impressive class rank and gpa. Thats a pretty good SAT score (well above the national average), but to be honest, it is below the average at all of the schools you have listed, and far below the average at several. You EC are good, but it doesnt seem like you have any sort of major “hook”. Im not sure when the deadline for test scores is at these school, but if there is time, I would take a look at the ACT if u havent already, maybe youre more suited to the ACT question style. As it stands, heres how it looks from my point of view based only off of ur current info

Davidson: high reach (very selective school, ur below their average… And not an athlete)
Bucknell: High match
Syracuse: Safety/Low match (very likely)
GW: Match/High match (cant decide… Ur sat scores are only a little bit below their average)
Wake Forest: low reach (not too far below their average SAT, but theyre pretty selective)
Colgate: reach
USC: Reach/high reach (not super familiar with them; im also assuming u mean the southern cali one and not the south carolina one)
UMich: high reach (below their 25th percentile)
BU: low reach
BC: reach
Tulane: high match

My scale:

Highest chance:Safety
Low Match
Match
High Match
Low Reach
Reach
Lowest chance: High reach

Good luck, hopefully u have time to bring those scores up! U should look into maybe two more safeties and 5+ more match/ low matches

GW and Wake Forest are test optional so don’t send your scores there. Look for other test optional schools that meet full need.

I agree with @pcaornkqeurest . Perhaps add a few more solid match/safety type schools. American, Gettysburg, Dickinson.

you guys are focusing WAAAY too much on stats and numbers… one of my friend got into the univ of chicago with a 30 on her ACT… just have stellar essays.

SAT is decent, so I don’t what some of these other people are saying. I think you have a very good shot at all the schools you listed with the hardest probably being Wake Forrest. Chance back?

Yes, GPA and class rank are noteworthy and are what will carry your application. Bucknell, Syracuse, Boston University, Wake Forest, probably your best bets out of the list you have offered. Keep up the good grades and do some more research to expand your list of options. Good luck!

@grandscheme @as9934 @harrisonwe98 @londondad @pcaornkqeurest I am not submitting test scores to Wake Forest, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, and Pitzer. What are my chances there? I also added Skidmore, and just recently got into SDSU so that is my safety

I also really want to get into NYU! What are my chances there? sorry i forgot to include that one haha.

  1. You need to recognize that by not submitting test scores, you will elicit a small amount of suspicion from these colleges; nothing major, bus essentially, the adcoms arnt stupid... Theyll u dersrand why you havent submitted scores. Bowdoin and wesleyan are most certainly reaches, as they are for almost everyone. Wake forest is probably a high match without teat scores, idk what that retard @as9934 was thinking about it being the hardest to get into..... Ur highest reaches are davidson, umich, bc..... Cant comment on pitzer and skidmore bc i dont know that much about them, but again, not submitting test scores will tell them that you didnt test well. Just being objective and honest

I don’t think Pitzer really cares all that much about scores, but average GPA is over 3.9 and ECs and community service are pretty heavily weighted.

@pcaornkqeurest I know I wanted to submit test scores at first but I was thinking it would hurt me in the end because they probably don’t want someone whose test scores will lower their like average (not saying that one person makes a difference but you never know). I’m having a hard time deciding! :frowning:
