I have two of the required two recommendation letters, and my CommonApp essay I would say (and my teachers / peers) is phenomenal and really showcases my own personality and what might set me away from my otherwise just as qualified competitors.
I also have an interview coming up with an admissions officer this Thursday (Tips with the interview would also be much appreciated).
I have already visited the campus once before and I loved it, this college is absolutely my top choice and I want to show them how interested I am in going there, hence Early Decision II Application and a campus interview.
Prepare some questions about Case Western. It can be something like , “What did you like best about Case?”. Or it can be some detailed questions about programming, but the interviewer may not know the answer. Be prepared to explain why Case Western is the best fit college and your first choice. Be sure to emphasize that its your first choice to the interviewer although with ED they should know that. Maybe look up some research work in psychology at Case to show that you really dug in on why its the right department for you. Are you premed? Be prepared to talk about what you want to do after Case Western too. Also dress neatly and try to be yourself. Good luck.
See if there is a bowling club for you at Case and you could talk about it with the interviewer perhaps. The more you know about Case, the more seriously the interviewer will believe you really want to go there.
If STEM, why are you not taking Calculus instead of Statistics? I would take any form (non AP) of calculus over AP Stats.
Not to pick on you, but Pre-calc as a junior is not advanced for a Case Student. However, if you are not a STEM major then you are fine.
For interview: Think of it more as an opportunity to fill in the gaps in your application/resume. Maybe talk about an overarching theme you have (if you have one).
Be able to talk about what inititially drew you to Case, and then what would make it your top choice. You don’t have to say it is your top choice if it isn’t, but if it were, what really grabbed you.
If you were engineering, for example:
For example, I initially looked at Case because I heard it was a good engineering school. But when I visited, I was very interested in the chances that undergraduates have for research, the Coop opportunites and the ThinkBox.
For bowling, it appears there is a intramural and bowling club. You could ask "I saw that there was a bowling club listed under Student Organizations. Is that club still active? https://orgsync.com/110529/chapter
There is a bowling place called “Uptown Bowling” right next to campus.
I think you have a good chance. You have similar stats to mine (my weighted was a lil higher) and I was accepted EA. Also, pre-calc junior year is fine as I took pre-calc junior year as well.
My son took pre-calc junior year and AP Calc this year and has a ACT of 35 and 35 in math. He takes all honors or AP classes (when available) at a private rigorous high school. He is in RD now.
