Chance me (early)

Hello, I’m currently a junior at an in-state school. Please change if you have the time!! I’m planning on applying to LSA with a major in Computer Science. Please chance this without regard to essays (which I know are vital, but I am generally pretty passionate when it comes to writing)

Extra: My lowest grades were all in my sophomore year. I had a C in Algebra 2 my second semester, but that semester was difficult since I had fallen into a few illnesses over the first weeks of the year and during the latter half I was taking care of my grandmother who had failing health. I had a few Bs in my freshmen year but I completely Aced junior year.
I think my high points are my SAT, APs, service hours and especially my ECs. My lowest point is probably my GPA but from people I have talked to, LSA is generally fine with 3.85+ Planning on getting rec letters written by my two favorite teachers that know me very intimately.

Being instate I think you have a good chance. Your resume comes across that your a doer and I think that’s important also you are doing mentoring and tutoring. Again those are great assets to have. Definitely have several schools that you are in the 75% percentile or safeties that you would enjoy going to. Good Luck.

You are pretty much in-line with admitted in-state students. Better than average SAT, EC’s, close to median admitted GPA. Just carefully craft your admissions essays- show your personality and passion- and select teachers who know you well for your recommendations. Make sure to apply early admission too - that makes a big difference!
