<p>So...I kind of went into applications thinking just some good EC's and scores would be enough for big schools, and I quickly realized that apparently everyone else applying has spent high school being music or swimming prodigies and going abroad to help kids in need. I feel like my app is incredibly ordinary in comparison, esp. for EC's, but chance me anyway just so I can mentally prepare myself for the decision days!</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 5.6 weighted
ACT: 34 (30 Math, 36 Science, 36 CR, 34 English...that math is haunting me, blah)
Courseload: 11 AP's, including current schedule. Rest are honors except for required electives like P.E, Art, etc.

-5's in Calc AB, US History, Human Geography, English Language.
-Currently taking Lit, Calc BC, Macroeconomics, U.S. Gov, and Enviro
Class Rank: 5/382, public school with focus on Biomedicine and Environmentalism

-HOSA 1st place at Regionals and States for Medical Math, competed at Nationals
-Regional Science Fair 1st place in Cellular/Molecular Biology + 2 specialty awards from the U.S. Army and Society for In-Vitro Biology (Didn't go to States)

-Internship at Florida International University, developed and presented my own independent research project on at a symposium (I go more in-depth with the details on the actual app, haha)

-Hospice Care Volunteer (I only started this year though)

-Silver Knights Award nominee for school (my project is nothing special though, just a brochure I made spreading awareness for neuroAIDS, based on my internship project subject. I'm trying to expand it but my attempts at fundraising and event plannings have crashed and burned :c)
-Member of SK Community Service club...which has nothing to do with the award, but does stuff like anti-bullying awareness, raises money for UNICEF, etc. (2 years) </p>
<p>Schools I'm aiming for (not including safeties, already got into Tulane and state school): Duke, UNC Chapel Hill (out of state), Brown, Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice, University of Miami, Dartmouth</p>
<p>I feel good about my academics, but ugggh, those EC's. Not much I can do now though, I did what interested me and what I enjoyed doing. Thank you! I can't really chance back because I know next to nothing about this process LOL, but I can try? Sorry!</p>
