Chance me for...a bunch of schools, please?

So...I kind of went into applications thinking just some good EC's and scores would be enough for big schools, and I quickly realized that apparently everyone else applying has spent high school being music or swimming prodigies and going abroad to help kids in need. I feel like my app is incredibly ordinary in comparison, esp. for EC's, but chance me anyway just so I can mentally prepare myself for the decision days!

Hispanic, Male, U.S. Citizen, gonna need quite a bit of financial aid

GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 5.6 weighted
ACT: 34 (30 Math, 36 Science, 36 CR, 34 English...that math is haunting me, blah)
Courseload: 11 AP's, including current schedule. Rest are honors except for required electives like P.E, Art, etc.
-4's in World History and Biology
-5's in Calc AB, US History, Human Geography, English Language.
-Currently taking Lit, Calc BC, Macroeconomics, U.S. Gov, and Enviro
Class Rank: 5/382, public school with focus on Biomedicine and Environmentalism
Common App Academic Honors:
-Harvard Book Award
-National Merit Scholarship and National Hispanic Recognition Scholar
-HOSA 1st place at Regionals and States for Medical Math, competed at Nationals
-Regional Science Fair 1st place in Cellular/Molecular Biology + 2 specialty awards from the U.S. Army and Society for In-Vitro Biology (Didn't go to States)
-AP Scholar, with Distinction
EC's:
-Internship at Florida International University, developed and presented my own independent research project on at a symposium (I go more in-depth with the details on the actual app, haha)
-Vice-President of HOSA chapter (2 years, but member for 3 years)
-National Honor Society & National English Honor Society member
-French Honor Society member, and participant in annual county world language festival thing as a poetry reader
-Hospice Care Volunteer (I only started this year though)
-Essay-writing tutor at school, founding member of the tutoring service (which has a number of tutors now. I do one on one tutoring mostly, but we've started to do writing workshops/presentations after-school)
-Red Cross Regional Youth Division Member (just this year)
-Silver Knights Award nominee for school (my project is nothing special though, just a brochure I made spreading awareness for neuroAIDS, based on my internship project subject. I'm trying to expand it but my attempts at fundraising and event plannings have crashed and burned :c)
-Member of SK Community Service club...which has nothing to do with the award, but does stuff like anti-bullying awareness, raises money for UNICEF, etc. (2 years)

Schools I'm aiming for (not including safeties, already got into Tulane and state school): Duke, UNC Chapel Hill (out of state), Brown, Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice, University of Miami, Dartmouth

I feel good about my academics, but ugggh, those EC's. Not much I can do now though, I did what interested me and what I enjoyed doing. Thank you! I can't really chance back because I know next to nothing about this process LOL, but I can try? Sorry!

You have a great chance of getting in anywhere.

Really? I’ve seen a lot of kids on these forums with insane “6+ years of swimming, 9 years of piano, played at Carnegie Hall” stuff, and I feel I can’t measure up to that. Plus, I can’t really rely on my academics when everyone has similar stats.

Thank you though, that’s encouraging!

Bump!

Would love some more opinions.

Bump again

Anyone else? I would really appreciate it!

I mean, all but Brown sound likely. Waving NMF, the 4.0, and the 34 at them will probably lead to acceptances abound. Seriously man, don’t worry.

Your odds are best at UMiami and Emory. You should include Oxford College at Emory too.
UNC-CH from OOS is as competitive as ivies (and if you need FA, you should also apply to UVA).
If you like the South, look into Davidson.
Aren’t you applying to UAlabama’s Honors College&Presidential scholarship?

You have a great chance everywhere. Dartmouth and Brown may be a reach but you still have a great chance! :)

Chance me back if you get a chance?

Duke: High match/low reach
UNC OOS: Low match
Brown: Low reach
Vanderbilt: High match
Rice: Match
UMiami: Low match/safety
Dartmouth: Low reach
