<p>I'm a senior who fell in love with American University, I think it's such a wonderful campus not to mention all the opportunities DC can provide. I plan to apply as an American Studies Major. My stats are a little on the low side so I'm worried if I should even apply, (early decision if that helps or make a difference) </p>

<p>Stats:
GPA- 3.41 (I had a bad sophomore year due to a death in the family but am hesitant to explain it in my application for fear of seeming desperate or just making excuses.) </p>

<p>SAT- 1740
Reading - 660
Math- 500 (I've taken it twice but I just Can't seem to improve it)
Writing- 580<br>
I'm also taking the SAT Subject test in December (US and World History) </p>

<p>AP- 4 total classes out of 8 possible
APUSH- 4
English Comp- 3
Euro- TBD
English Lit- TBD</p>

<p>Senior Schedule is just as rigorous as all other years </p>

<p>ECs
-Marching Band 4 Years also the treasurer for 2
-Reading Team 4 years also Captain for 1
-French Club 4 years
-Local historical association member for 8 years
-and a variety of others </p>

<p>I've visited once and plan to visit in December as well as an interview, in hoping that my interest coupled with early decision will be enough it be admitted to my dream school. Thanks for any help. If I can help with someone else's chances I'd be happy to :D</p>

<p>Get your SAT Math up. I would suggest Phillip Keplers New Strategy to Math (title is something like that). It helped me go from a 590 to a 670 in math. GL. </p>
