Hi, this is my first post on here. (: I'm glad I found this site, I hope it'll be helpful.

I'm going into 8th grade right now and looking to apply for freshman year, so it's still a bit early.

I'm of Asian race and won't be applying for financial aid.

Grades all in A range (unsure about my GPA, also my school does not do ranks)

Was first in the grade graduating from 5th grade

Very passionate about writing in English: Won various state writing awards, has read my written speeches before, has a few minor publications. (Sorry about the lack of detail here.)

Fluent in Chinese and able to write well in Chinese: Chinese school awards for a couple years, published in two newspapers, one a major national newspaper

Received recognition for several go tournaments (also known as weiqi/baduk--I guess you could call it the equivalent of chess), ranked in the national organization

Photography and poetry awards

At school, part of newspaper club & wind ensemble. (Many ec's were cut this year, unforunately.../: )
There are also a few other things I have done that I'm was never particularly interested in, such as playing the flute for a few years, playing piano for a couple years with minor recognition, and up to freestyle 6 in figure skating, and a few other minor athletics. These things aren't really that impressive though and they don't really reflect my interests though, so I may not put them down.

I think I will do well on the essay and the interview, since I'm a fairly good speaker. I'm a little concerned about the SSAT, but for this purpose let's just say I go ft into the 94th percentile.

I would also like to reflect my interest in history and philosophy on my app or essay during the start of 8th grade next year--anyway to do that?

Thanks in advance! :D
