CHANCE ME for Baylor Uni, UNT, UTAustin, Texas Tech

(For Baylor University I know the early action date has passed, so I really wonder if I still have a shot for Baylor if I applied for reg. admissions?)

GPA unweighted - 3.9
GPA weighted - 4.6

AP Biology (A)
A rigorous medical academy exclusively offered at my school (includes pharmacology, job shadowing, hospital experience, etc...) (A)
Spanish 3 (A)

Anatomy/phys (A)

The rest of the classes are the ordinary classes in order to receive high school credits.

Extracurricular/Volunteering/misc:

Please help me, I will be so grateful!

Really good GPA

Texas Tech: Match
UNT: Low Match
Baylor : High Match
UT Austin : Reach/CAP Program if you can get higher scores

What is CAP anyway? I’ve heard brief things about it… It’s like an alternative route to transfer eventually do the school you want to go to?

Your GPA and extra-curriculars are great, but your SAT score is going to be your biggest hurdle to overcome. I cannot give you a clear-cut prediction, but I believe you have a decent chance if your application is considered holistically.

I think you’ll get into Baylor and Tech for sure. You’re on the low end of UNT’s SAT score range, but you’ve got a decent shot in my opinion. UT Austin is definitely a reach.

CAP is basically when UT Austin says you’re not good enough for the main campus yet but they’d like you in their school system and will transfer you into their main campus your next year if you keep your GPA high enough. If you’re CAPed you could choose which UT satellite school you would like to go to (Arlington, San Antonio, El Paso, ect).

To better your chances at UNT and UT Austin I would try the ACT. I personally found it much easier than the SAT, but to each his own.

You will get into Texas Tech and UNT for sure. You may not get into Baylor. And, I’m pretty confident saying that you will not get into UT because your test scores are too low. However, you can do the CAP program as other posters have stated if you want to go to UT-Austin that bad.
