Cappex tells me I have a good chance at getting in, but I’m not sure how accurate they are. Thanks.
Your ACT and GPA are pretty low, but it honestly depends on how good your extra curriculars are. So, do you have any? Also, did you take any AP classes? I just don’t have enough info to chance you accurately.
In this case, I’m going to consider AP and Dual Credit interchangeable.
At my high school, they don’t really let us take any advanced courses until our Junior year.
Having that said, my AP/Dual Credit course load is as follows:
AP World History <= I took this my Sophomore year = B
AP U.S History =B
Pre-Calculus = B
Anatomy and Physiology = A
AP/Dual English III = B
AP/Dual English IV (College Composition) = B
Dual Biomedical Sciences = A
Dual Human Body Systems = A
In addition, I took Algebra II and Geometry at the same time my Junior year.
My weighted GPA, as I forgot to mention, is a 3.7
My EC’s are minimal but they are consistent:
HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) for three years, state competition. I didn’t place, unfortunately, but we do some volunteer work for charity and have fundraisers and such.
BU is a reach, match if you choose the CGS option.
Honestly, I don’t know. It depends on the applicant pool and your essay. You don’t have good enough scores to get in easily, and your ecs are underwhelming. I’m not saying you won’t get in, but don’t expect to. Retake the ACT if you can, that could raise your chances quite a bit.
