Chance Me for Brown 2021

I’m a rising senior hoping to be admitted to Brown in the regular decision round for the class of 2021.
GPA: 4.19W, 3.99UW
ACT: 30-single sitting (30E, 34R, 26M, 31S); 32-superscore (35E, 34R, 27M, 31S)
I realize Brown does not superscore, but will view all of my test scores.

Honors and AP’s: Honors English 1, Honors Algebra 1, Honors Biology, Honors British Literature, Honors Geometry, Honors Chemistry, Honors French II, AP World History, AP Lang/American Lit, Honors Algebra/Trig, AP Biology, Honors French III, APUSH

Extracurriculars:
Cross Country: 10,11,12 (haven’t run varsity but received team leadership award junior year)

I like spending my free time reading classics and writing poetry.

My essay is going to be about overcoming serious adversity. I know this is difficult and especially challenging to encompass in the short length but otherwise the admissions counselors won’t get the whole picture and I think it will help me if they do.

I am hoping to concentrate in English.

Recommendations from teacher are from my English teacher/cross country coach and math teacher.

I am concerned that A) I have low test scores especially in math and science, B) not enough leadership, and C) I struggle a lot in math and somewhat in science.

Also, Tufts?!

Hey I’m a student at Brown and the PLME, and made a video to help! Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9GlJreTrec

Depending on your essay and rec letters, I’d say you have a fair shot at Brown.

Are you a URM? And what kind of adversity did you overcome? Your test scores are obviously lower than average for this school and you EC are really quite average. As you stated they won’t take your super score for the AC, but when they say they take all your scores into consideration they are really just talking about all your composite scores not sub scores. Unless you are a URM and your adversity relates to this and has made it difficult to take tests than you will probabaly get denied.

As an observation, Brown’s 25th percentile ACT score is 30, so you have approached the typical statistical range for the school.
